HAPPY EASTER

I seem to be in the mood for clothes sewing these days. A nice break from the usual because it's instant gratification.

Reversible pants for Janie

The 'backside' has a contrasting panel

The reverse side

Can it get any cuter ? ?

Pattern is from this book which I've had for 2 years and FINALLY cracked the cover.

These are so fun to do and don't take a lot of fabric so I think I'll make more to have on hand for baby showers.

This Easter week- end will be spent with family. Two of my boys will be home after all, so I'm happy about that.

Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.

BEE HAPPY

Scarlet's Easter dress is done.  On Sunday, I tackled the dreaded button holes and discovered my machine does them quite easily. Surprise surprise.

I love the knots in place of the buttons  : )

No outfit is complete without the shoes

I didn't have time to try and find a tiny dress pattern for Janie, so she gets a pair of pants made from the leftover border print.

Quite some time ago, Katja gave me this little label and I have been saving it. It's perfect.

Oh! I bought another quilting book

This is how I justify it

That was easy          : )

MARCH MODA CLUB

The show and tell :

Katja's quilt made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics

We had triple zip pouches after I sent them the link last month

Last month I challenged the ladies to try a scrappy trip block. If they wanted, they could give me the block and I would make a quilt for Hospice House. LOOK at all the blocks they donated. My work is cut out for me now (literally)  and I couldn't be happier    : )

Thanks to everyone who came,  and I'm already looking forward to seeing your projects next month.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Finally! All my hexies are pieced and I have started to applique them down to the background.

I spray basted the centre, and pinned the outside flowers. Once the applique is done, I will cut away the blue behind the flowers.

This is my block for the Heal@ do.good stitches for March. This was a tough one because it was meant to be improv with no matching seams. I did have a couple of seams that lined up quite nicely. Ooops : )

If time allows, I want to get this little dress sewn for one of my grand girls. Isn't the fabric fun?

Enjoy your day.

HEXI- BETS

Hand piecing is something I find very enjoyable and relaxing. This past week I managed a few more letters for my alphabet.

I think it was Caroline who asked that I take a picture of one with a loonie to help gauge the size.
The hexagons are 3" finished

For the Simply Solids group I am part of, I was asked to make a scrappy trip around the world block using the dark grey and burgundy fabrics I was sent. The rest was meant to be scraps. Done!

I bought a book......

......because this is calling to me

and then there's this

Happy Sunny Sunday.
