GREEN TEA AND SWEET BEANS---WITH FRIENDS

One by one my blocks from the Mid Century Modern girls came in the mail. I would put them up on the design wall and play around, then take them down again for another project. Last week, I laid them all out on my floor and got busy fitting them together. The blocks were 6", 9", and 12" so it was a bit like a puzzle. Soon I had a layout I liked and was sewing them together.




There are so many fun things to look at !


I had asked that the backgrounds be light or text prints. Because the blocks were different sizes, I knew I would have 'holes' to fill. Little did the ladies know that I would be using their 3" signature blocks on the front  : )
They worked like a charm, and technically they're text prints right??


I'm so happy with my quilt. Here I am feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Squeal!



I know I can't call my quilt by the same name as my inspiration, but maybe by the time I have it quilted I will have come up with something brilliant. I will do a proper post when it's done and I plan on naming names!

    This is an incredibly beautiful quilt. Even better than the Green Tea and Sweet Beans one!!

    Carla, I loooooove your quilt! You can guess that I love those lovely colours but also the design with lots of things to see is amazing! I would love to have that on the wall to watch it all the time. x Teje

    It is wonderful!!! I would have such a hard time laying the blocks out- often that is the hardest part of a quilt for me. It looks fantastic! I can't wait to see it finished!

    It's absolutely gorgeous Carla!!! I love all the bright and fanciful prints - they go perfectly with the light and happy design. And what a joy to have all those signature blocks. It will be a treasure for you for many, many years to come!!!

    It's beautiful, Carla! I can't believe what you did with our hodge-podge of quilt blocks! They looks so great together. You couldn't have created anything lovelier!I think you should poll our MQMBee'ers on Flickr to come up with a name. They're so clever with block-making, I'm sure they'll be the same with a title for your quilt. Thanks of sharing pictures of your design.
