THE WEDDING QUILT

Today is the day.  I started the Wedding Quilt. The bride to be just loves fall colours so the first thing that popped into my head was a Modern Maples quilt. This way, I can include all her favourites.



I looked a few places for a background fabric that would be suitable. Now I would have loved a light fabric with text print all over to make it modern, but this quilt isn't about me. So, I decided on this one because I think what it says is so fitting for the Newlyweds. It's called 'Home to Roost' for Red Rooster fabrics.


 This piece is my inspiration fabric and I have started dumping out bins and baskets looking for fall colours.

    What a great idea! I should make a wedding runner...I have some Canadian friends getting married in October...too bad I don't know where I'll find time to sew. =(

    Love the maple leaf block. This is going to be a great wedding present. Any excuse to have a good rummage through the scrap bins will usually produce an awesome quilt. Have fun!

    I have an off white that has lighter coloured leaves imprinted on it that would have been perfect as a background. Looks like you've made a great start on the wedding quilt.
