When I was taking these pictures, no one screeched to a halt and said "Hey! That reminds me of when I was in Morocco.........."
However, one lady did say, "Are you actually going to publish those pictures somewhere?" Too funny.
The 'tiles' measure 17 3/4" across. The quilt measures 72 x 85. Another scrap buster.
When I made Carli's quilt, about 9 years ago, I called it Tumbling Blocks. How boring is that?
This is one of the images from google.
Had I known about this site then, I would have called it "Steps to the Palace" or "Palace Floor" or something much more creative I'm sure.
Anyway, this is as close as I will ever get to Morocco, so I am going to enjoy these while I can.
Have an amazing week-end.
Linking up with Amanda for Finish it up Friday.
Both quilts are amazing.
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are really beautiful! I haven't gotten into the habit of naming my quilts. yet.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilts, Carla, plus they are named just perfectly.
ReplyDeleteMarie
Awesome piecing on both quilts! And great photography as well. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteboth are awesome! is the strip one out of jelly rolls? and the hexies I assume were done by hand?
ReplyDeleteI'd call them beautiful! But "Fred "would be a good runner up. :0)
ReplyDeleteI've only named a few of mine, as I find that picking the right name is usually as much work as creating the quilt. I love the name you picked - and the quilts!
ReplyDeleteLove the new quilt. I like the photos you took.
ReplyDeletelove the colours in both quilts... I dont bother naming mine ... would make my brain hurt!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you name your quilts. I had a hard enough time coming up with baby names. If I'd named my babies the way I name my quilts they'd be named "Blue-eyed girl" and "Brown-eyed boy" - don't think that'd fly!
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are so amazing!! Wow, I wish I could quilt like you!! Have a lovely weekend!! xo Heather
ReplyDeletethese are both so stunning....the Moroccan tiles are beautiful
ReplyDeleteOh Carla you've done it again! How beautiful this quilt is. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteRemarkable! You are one amazing quilter!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful name for a beautiful quilt! And oh my, you are so fast!!!!
ReplyDeleteI usually name my quilts something like "Sarah's quilt'. Sew original.
ReplyDeleteHOLY CRAP!!!!! amazing!
ReplyDeleteMoroccan Tiles is beautiful and has a great name. Did you did the hexies by hand? Love your pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, so many hexies! I like your strippy hexagon quilt, too - the grey border really makes the hexagons stand out!
ReplyDeleteI really like the bits of orange in your morrocan tiles quilt. they make it special.
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are gorgeous, no matter what you call them!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the scrap busting! I don't really name my quits, I just call them by their recipient's name, like "Kelsey's quilt" or "Naomi's quilt" usually.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your quilt, and love the name!! :o) The hexie quilt is a stunner, too. Pretty FW block, and love the hexie that you made!
