FRIDAY PHOTOS

We have had some nasty weather here so I have been waiting it out in my sewing room. This week I worked on several different projects. Nothing got finished, but I made progress on several things.

I started a quilt with Lucy's Crab Shack.

I worked on the nursery quilt. I have some quilts and birds on the clothesline now.

While digging through a bin of kids fabrics, I found this half pieced top. All the fabrics were with it, so I added a few more random width strips and finished it up. I started this quilt over a year ago after seeing one on film in the fridge. I think I will use it to practise my free motion quilting. Perhaps a different fill in each row?

and lastly, I have had this little lamp for about 10 years. I wouldn't part with it because I loved the shape. It's solid wood. The shade was rotten but I kept it, thinking one day I would paint the base, and buy a new shade. Well, a piece of "good fortune" by Kate Spain and a little paint, and voila. I think this just upped the cuteness factor of the nursery by a bit : )

I do have something else to show you, but that will have to wait for Sunday.
Have a great week-end.

  1. So loved your post this morning. Lots of fun stuff you have shared. I was thinking as i read that i am thankful for technology. We will be able to keep connected even if I will probably not be in Kamloops again for awhile. Maybe you will come east for a visit sometime.
Hope your weekend is good too!

  2. Great quilt coming from those Crab Shack fabrics! I'm intrigued with the baby room - for a grandchild? We're going to be first-time grandparents, and having so much fun creating for these babies (twins).
