Inspiration came from a couple of sources ( here and here ).
I used two different sized hexagons and a selection of springy colours. The background is feathered friends by Northcott. I hadn't originally planned to appliqué these down and then mow over them with stitching, but I really wanted to try this dense quilting so I went for it!
The lines are 1/4" apart
After all that quilting I thought it might stand up by itself, but surprisingly it has a nice drape to it.
backing is Textures by Angela Walters
I will definitely be doing this type of quilting again. Perhaps on an even bigger quilt.
