LILLYBELLE

Almost a year ago, I started piecing hexagons for this quilt. It was a quilt along hosted by Katy of
I'm a Ginger Monkey. The big hexagons really appealed to me so I took the plunge.
For the most part I worked on this in fits and jerks and before I knew it, my centre was together and it was time to applique it down to the background.

I just love these bright colours   : )

The sun was out in full force so I had to wait until evening to get some pictures. I am hoping for some better ones after I quilt it.

I'm thinking sort of an orange peel design for the quilting if I can get my walking foot to cooperate.

Next week I am going to my first ever Quilt Market in Portland. I've heard about it for years, seen pictures and blog posts, and now I get to go !

Also, next week is another Bloggers Quilt Festival. I've been working on a baby quilt trying to get it finished for the link up on the 17th. Stay tuned for that.

Have a great week-end.

  27. Gorgeous quilt! I see a lot of hexes out there in quilting land, but so few successful quilts. But this one is a huge success and perhaps it's your colors? Your interesting vines, top and bottom? I'm loving this!
