A KNITTED COWL

A couple of months ago on a road trip I picked up this pattern. I figured it would be a quick knit that I could still use this season. Well............it's finished just in time for the warmer weather. Oh well,
next winter  : )

The shawl collar is created by knitting short rows which was a new technique for me.

I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

buttons are by 2 Good Claymates

A new line of fabric came into the shop. Color Me Happy by V and Co.
Have you noticed how so many of the new lines have turquoise and grey in them? They work so well with the X and + blocks I am making for my swap. I think Katja knows I'm weak too. This little FQ bundle came home with me.

A couple of weeks ago while hubby was going over receipts, he said to me "you know, we could have been rich---but along came quilting!"

Sorry dear            : /

  1. That shawl collar is absolutely gorgeous and the colour is so rich. It will be perfect for the autumn. Talking of rich, I hope you pointed out to your husband that you are rich - rich in happiness. I always counter my husband's argument with the number of tools he buys, and cars, and computers. We all have our little vices. Philippa xx

  13. The cowl is beautiful, love the colours and of course the buttons. Oh a Bliss, just look what your incredible wife makes with all the fabric, and how inspirational she is to others. Dave says to same thing to me, but solved that when I said YES to his 1930 Model A hot rod.....

  16. Love that cowl and the buttons on it. My hubby can't complain. He has many more hobbies than I do, and he is always 'needing' stuff for those camping/hiking/backpacking/etc hobbies.

  17. That cowl is pretty. I bet it keeps your neck warm. Is it meant to go under a coat? Or would someone wear it just like this? Sure like knowing your hubs is the same as mine. About 18 months ago, for the first time in my life, I opened my own spending account. Money goes in from teaching and writing, and money goes out for fabric and fabric and fabric. Oh, and a new FMQ sewing machine foot that's due to arrive in a day or so. It's nice to keep it all close to the vest... err, close to the cowl?!
