BEE BUSINESS AND A FINISH

We are off on a short road trip again but before we left I made my bee blocks for April. Two of the three I had not made before so it was fun to try new things.

Debbie's block for the Mid Century Modern group--rolling diamonds

Quilt as you go herringbone strips for Nicke for Heal @do.good stitches  6 x 64

and a huge Swoon block for the Humility group @do.good stitches

Jaime asked for black and red with a dramatic black/white print. This is the most dramatic I had in my stash. I think it works

I finished my son's hat. Remember the one with the dreadlocks ?

It's from this magazine

It's called the 'woodcutter' hat

It doesn't quite enclose all those dreads...........

He loves it             : )

Oh! Miss J stopped by. I changed her into her little outfit to try and get a picture. I knew it wouldn't happen on her actually birthday so.............

A perfect fit. Happy Gramma!!!!!!

  3. Little Miss J looks so adorable, great sewing and knitting... The mid century block and your swoon are stunning. And your woodcutters hat looks great, he Could roll up the dreads, but it looks good, and I am sure he is thrilled that Mom made it for him. Another amazing post, you make me feel guilty that I don't get more done each month.....enjoy your trip!

  5. Great use of fabric in your rolling diamond block, and I agree that your black & white print is quite dynamic. For a minute there, I thought the hat was "the one with the dreadlocks), but I now see it's your son you were referring to. The little outfit looks even nicer on the model. How lovely!

  24. Love all the blocks you finished up before heading out. And I had forgotten what an amazing knitter you are--one of the young men in my class wears a hat similar to your son's, so it looked very familiar.

And that little dolly at the end, just takes my breath away!

    Have fun!

  26. If that isn't dramatic red and black, I don't know what is. I think you followed the brief perfectly.
