I'm sure it was at least ten years ago, I bought this panel. Since then it's been ageing (like me) in a drawer. I've thought about it from time to time. My intention was to make something for my sister when she turned 50. Then I thought no, maybe a friend when she had HER big one. Now that I can say I'm in to my fifties, I just may have to make it for myself.
Oh. My. Word.
I know someone who is probably howling right now. Hi Karen!
The panel is called "New Hats- Old Friends" by Sandy Gervais. Do you think if we bug her enough she might come out with another one???
I think I should make this up to remind myself about the humorous side of getting older. As my mother says.........."This getting old thing aint for sissies"!
Happy Mothers Day : )
Aged to perfection...and happy to say sew!
ReplyDeleteOMG that is so funny. Just love it. Recently saw a 'cartoon' on facebook which says something like 'the reason I'm this big is because God liked me so much he made more of me'. Sums me up at the moment, x
ReplyDeleteI have this same fabric, and was going to make it for a older friend too, but now that I am in my 60's, I think I should make it for myself too. I continue to laugh at myself, and remind myself It's Okay! Enjoy your day, and thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteOh my word. I just found this fabric last week. I purchased this 10 years ago. I too need to make something. I recently purchased an accuquilt Go, so I think I will make a brick quilt and scatter these squares in to make table runners for my aunt and cousins!
ReplyDeleteI was one of the ones howling! Great Mother's Day post, Carla. Hope your day was blessed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun gift for yourself. It is pretty funny. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Happy mother's day to you!
ReplyDeleteYes! That's exactly why I wear glasses and hang on to my cellulite. :)
ReplyDeleteI do like the bubble wrap thinking if only losing weight was as simple as popping bubble wrap though :( Hope you think of a use for your panel Carla, it deserves to be out in the daylight raising a smile :)
ReplyDeleteJust keep that smile on your face and fool everyone, Carla, that's what I do!
ReplyDeleteSimply awesome...and even better are the comments that follow. I agree...life would be simpler if loosing weight just meant popping the bubble wrap...sigh!
ReplyDeleteYour mom is a very wise women. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteThat’s one hilarious panel Carla!
ReplyDeleteI loved being in my 50’s, they meant nothing yet...
Now I’m in my (early) 60’s (the new 505’s) and feels so different.
I always remember the Garfield phrase ‘I’m not overweight, I’m undertall’!
Well, you see, that’s one of the downsides of being in my 60’s, I can’t even spell 50’s in the right way!
