When I was little, my Mom used to tell me that as we get older the time goes faster. For a young child waiting for Christmas, I never believed her. Now I wish someone would slow this whole thing down!
Another year has gone, but I had an eventful one. We had a wedding, and two babies so there was always some excitement in the air : )
I thought it might be fun to link up with Meadow Mist Designs , and feature my five most viewed posts of 2015.
A Little Bird Told Me
Inside Addition
Shanty Town
Littlest
The Wedding Quilt
It was fun to go through and look at all the finishes : ) There were more, but these were the favourites
I do hope 2016 allows a little more sewing time than this last half of 2015 did.
Happy New Year to you all, and I look forward to 'seeing' you in 2016 !
Aah yes, this time passing more quickly as we age thing....it is happening all the way down here too. Wish I could somehow change it's momentum...but I don't like my chances. All these quilts are lovely, Carla. All so wonderfully different and all so very clever. I look forward, with delight, to seeing what 'pretties' you whip up in 2016!
ReplyDeleteYes, the time does fly, doesn't it? Love all your finishes Carla! I think "A Little Bird Told Me" is my favourite, because I love turquoise blue! Heres to many more pretty quilts in 2016!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Carla! These are beautiful quilts! It's fun to see what has been most viewed because they are not always what we thought. You have done many other very special quilts, too. It's terrible how quickly the time pass. Is it that we just don't have anymore so much energy to do and feel that one day is so short. I'm looking for to start a new quilting year with you. I'm sure you shall make again something gorgeus and unique! x Teje
ReplyDeletePS. I start to write now in new address: www.nerospostbox.wordpress.com
I'm also hoping for more quilting time. As those babies grow, there seems to be less and less time for quilting and, as you noted, time goes by much more quickly. It's seems a cruel joke that life plays on us: the more we appreciate time, the faster to seems to pass.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I visit fairly regularly, I'm coming from Meadow Mist and Best of 2015, and love the posts and quilts you've chosen. It's fun checking out what others have decided on. Have a wonderful new year, Carla!
I love that they're all so unique. Wishing you a creative and inspiring 2016!
ReplyDeleteLove all of those quilts, but Shanty Town is my favourite - I think it's because of the colours. Best wishes for 2016 to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYou have had an action packed New Year! I am looking forward to seeing what you do for 2016...I know you will knock my socks off!!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could slow down how fast time goes by too!
Happy New Year, Carla! I agree, it's amazing how much quicker the world is turning as we age! 2015 was an eventful year for both of us in similar ways. Weddings and new grandchildren. It's definitely a beautiful life and it's been a pleasure seeing it through your eyes. Best wishes in 2016!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, but I think Shanty Town is my favorite. Happy new year! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Mom knew exactly what she was talking about... and now isn't it sad that we're THAT old, to understand it too?! Your quilts are beautiful, Carla, but I like Shantytown best of all. Every time I see yours I'm ready to chuck whatever I'm working on and get started! (Shame on you for doing that to me.) :-)
ReplyDeleteTime really does go faster. I think it is something to do with how long a year is as a relative proportion of our lives. At ten, one year is ten per cent of our existence.
ReplyDeleteThese are all lovely projects, Carla.
Great finishes, I especially love A Little Bird Told Me. I really like how you used the large scale print in the quilt.
ReplyDeleteAll such nice finishes. Shanty Town will always be a favorite.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your growing family. All of your quilts were amazing, as usual, and I don't know which one/s were my favourites. Thanks for being so creative and inspiring throughout 2015. Can't wait to see what you accomplish in 2016.
ReplyDeleteBless you Carla
Love the wedding quilt especially! Every year at the New Year I am so shocked to have another year behind me. Time really does fly.:)
ReplyDeleteI love that first quilt. Did you piece the trees in also? I can't quite tell if they were part of the fabric or if you did such a wonderful job they just seem part of the original fabric. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Carla! All the best for 2016!
ReplyDeleteYou made such lovely things in 2015, Carla! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! You make such beautiful quilts. I love each one more than the next.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, time is going way too fast now, but when you're a kid... remember how long summer vacation seemed?! You've knit and sewn some amazing projects in 2015, I can't wait to see what you craft in 2016!! Your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts...love the design and fabric/color selections!! Shanty Town is especially gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI am so torn between Shantytown and the Wedding Quilt. They are all lovely. Looks like you had a busy, happy and very eventful 2015. Here is wishing you lots of creativity in 2016.

Time flies when you’re getting older. It sometimes scares me ;-) Love to see your beautiful quilts! Happy New Year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteLovely finishes for 2015!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love the Wedding Quilt and wonder if the block is called Rocky Mountain Puzzle? Do you have a tutorial how to make it?
ReplyDelete********Hi Mart. It's my own pattern, there is no tutorial, sorry. I just kept making blocks until there was enough ; )
ReplyDeleteYou have some great finishes here! I especially love that “hillside houses” one! ;-) Inside addition is calling my name too...
ReplyDeleteA Little Bird told me is my fav but Shanty town gets my attention too.
ReplyDeleteWhat shall 2016 bring?
