I FELL INTO THE JAM...

The Jelly Roll Jam that is.  How is it that when I am needing to make a fast quilt, they start popping up all over Blogland?  Do THEY know that I will drop everything and make said pattern? I came across this the other day, and knew it was just what I was looking for. Two quilts from a Jelly Roll.
A certain little mamma I know is expecting twins early November. She is having boys, and although these are not her first babies, the boy stuff she has is pretty well used. Did I need an excuse? I grabbed a Jelly Roll of  'Oink a Doodle Moo' and got to work.

The other half of the strips will make the second quilt. A perfect size at 36" square.

These little babies are joining life on a small hobby farm so I think this will be perfect for them.
Pattern is here

Yesterday I also made these little pants for a friends' grand daughter. They are from the book Handmade Beginnings by Anna Maria Horner. I've made them before and will be doing more probably for the twins.

the matching ribbon---so cute!

The baby shower is Sept 28th. Can I have two quilts done and two pair of pants? I think I can, I think I can!
Have a fabulous day.

  1. You definitely can - just go for it! These are both so lovely :-) I saw the jellyroll jam pattern at the Moda Bakeshop - it looks fab, so it's definitely going on my to-make list too.

  3. So much cuteness! Love that "Moo" line... I have a charm pack of it for the next little boy project that comes along. I used to sew for my daughter when she was a baby/toddler. Wish I had kept more of them!

  13. Love those pants! Your friends granddaughter is going to look adorable in them!

I have no doubt that you'll get two pants and two quilts done in a week. I personally wouldn't touch that goal with a 10 foot pole but I have every confidence that you'll get it done!

  14. You're sure making cute stuff! The quilt and pants are adorable. Believe it or not, I've never made anything using a jelly roll. I still like the old-fashioned way of making a quilt!

  24. I know what you mean about the Jelly Roll Jam quilts - I have a to-do list about as long as I am tall (which isn't THAT long - I'm 5'3"), but I really didn't need to add another quilt or two to the mix... I still have to start sewing my B&W Swoon quilt, and I have a Twister quilt partly assembled, among other things - but, if I find the right jelly roll on sale somewhere, I'll probably go for it. I've even thought of just using strips of fabrics that I have in my stash!
