Once I got going I was excited to make more blocks. This one was next in the book. Now I know why I probably fell off the hay wagon .......
Who's idea was it to put 51 pieces in a 6" block? #26- cut glass dish
# 27- darting birds
#28- duck and ducklings
#29- economy
#30- end of day
I'm on my way to having another row done. It feels good to be working on this again.
Thanks Linda! That was just the kick in the 'overalls' I needed to get going on this : ) To see some finished quilts, click here

Looking good! What a great quilt that's going to be! I probably would have skipped the 51 piece block and just gone on to something else - whew!
ReplyDeleteAll 51 pieces look great!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla! Looks fantastic! I wish I hade time to do those lovely blocks! Wow, some of them have really small pieces, but I love that! x Teje
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. You're really moving along. Your post reminds me that I need to get back to my Farmer's Wife. I only have 12 blocks made.
ReplyDeleteYay Carla - looking good!
ReplyDeleteYou are getting there! I was just thinking of pulling out what I had and tackling a few new blocks. Maybe I'll do that today!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and what a beautiful quilt it will be!! Have a lovely day Carla! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteIt's looking really good!
ReplyDeleteI"m looking at that first block and wondering if you have heard of triangles on a roll? I don't know what size those HST's are, but maybe it would take the piecing of them to an enjoyable new level. A lady from the guild I used to attend told me about how wonderful they are and they come in all sizes. Might be something to look into.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is gorgeous! I'm sure you will love to complete it.
They're GREAT Carla! A lovely top so far. Love the Kate Spain fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking really good Carla! I think I only have 11 blocks made - they've been residing on my design wall for a year or more. I need to get back to it too! Keep inspiring us!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I remember working on mine! It took forever!!!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look perfect to me, Carla. I just reserved Farmer's Wife from the library since I've only seen bits and pieces around internet blogland. I'm not sure I'm up to 51 pieces in 6" yet. I need to hone my skills before expecting success in that project!
ReplyDeleteWell, your blocks certainly are pretty and those ladies that got theirs done sure were dedicated. I might have been much slower too when I saw so many pieces in one little block!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful the blocks look. It's going to look incredible when it is finished. I admire your patience. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lot of piecing! Your quilt is turning out just beautiful. It's fun watching it all come together.
ReplyDeleteStunning! Such amazing fabric combos. You will be ubber happy when this one is complete! Good project for summer!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful/bright colors - it will be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt may have 51 pieces in it, but it's stunning! Love all the Kate Spain fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI like your take with cheery fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI like the modern look of yours. A nice spin.
ReplyDeleteI love this in your fabrics. Sewing that corner together really starts to show how great it's going to look :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks, Carla. Great fabrics & colors!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the 51 pieces in 6 inches. My sentiments exactly. I really like making these blocks for the FWQ but the triangles with 1 inch legs are the minimal size i can tolerate. Not to scare you but there are a few blocks with more pieces. I have 25 blocks to go myself and somehow all those have managed to end up in the last 25 blocks GRRRR.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors! I am working on one but in Civil War fabrics. Now I wonder if I should have picked out some pretty brights like you.
