It's the last Friday of the month which means it's time for me to post about my Friendship X and + blocks for Cindy. These are the blocks I made her for February
Seeing as though they are scrappy blocks, I started sewing them together just to see what they are going to look like. I didn't really have a plan, but I thought I would alternate a block from Cindy, one from me, one from her, etc.
Love. It.
I saw this bolt of fabric at a little shop and thought "ohhhhh it's just the colours in our quilt!" I wonder how Cindy feels about hippos??
Also I read somewhere that they don't sell Smarties in the States. Can this be true? Just in case, I am enclosing a few boxes with her blocks this month for her grand children to enjoy : )
I sure hope the people at Customs don't mind.........
So, 40 blocks out of 64 done. I am off to pull fabrics for March's blocks.
If you want to swap blocks you can find the info here and here
This is looking wonderful! Those blocks look amazing together :)
ReplyDeleteAs always Carla your blocks go together brilliantly and the finished quilt will be splendid. I have to admit that when I was a child I always wanted to be one of the children in the Smarties ad and be showered in Smarties. I still love them now. Have you noticed how difficult it can be to buy sweets that don't contain chocolate? I really miss Toffoes. It's fortunate that I love chocolate otherwise I might feel a little deprived! Have a great weekend. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is on my START THIS YEAR list!!!! I've been wanting to make one for quite a while now, and seeing it in your colors just makes it that much more of a priority :) Love it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are really gorgeous together. I just love your color choices.
ReplyDeleteGosh your blocks are pretty together--those colors are wonderful! (They are my favorites!) They sell something here called Smarties, but it isn't the same thing--they come in a tube and are more like skinnier Sweetarts.
ReplyDeleteSO great! Love that backing fabric!
ReplyDeleteThose colours in the quilt are so wonderful together!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks go together so well. They look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI remember duing my year living in the US, being so pleased to find Crunchie bars up in Canada and stocking up before heading back down to CO!
Okay - I love the colors Heidi and I have chosen for our swap. But your color combo always makes me think about our choice :-))) Your blocks are gorgeous and I love how they all play so well together!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love these colors and the pattern, Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are amazing. Love the colours. Also that hippo material is fab, love it, x
ReplyDeleteWe have Smarties in Australia! I'd recognize the packaging anywhere! Loving the blocks too!
ReplyDeleteWow! This quilt looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe colors you've chosen are beautiful and all those pluses and exes are perfect for that fabric.
ReplyDeleteThat hippo fabric is so cute. Your blocks are sitting together very happily...loving your arrangement!!
ReplyDeleteI love those hippos (and Smarties, I had a tube last night!) and think your quilt is going to be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThose hippos...LOVE! In fact, I love everything about this quilt. the colors are fabulous! I've got this block on my wishlist and now I think I'm bumping it up to the top of the list. again, I love everything about this!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSimply delicious!
ReplyDeleteHow could anyone not love a hippos print? Your quilt is coming along brilliantly!
ReplyDeleteYou two work so well together!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome blocks!! The Smarties we have in the US are nothing like the ones you get. And they aren't chocolate! I was in Toronto last summer, and the US Customs agent must have asked me 3 times if I was trying to bring Smarties back into the US. We also don't have Kinder Eggs here :(
ReplyDeleteCarla, this quilt is stunning, and it is not even finished. Love the fabrics, and adore the hippos. You inspire me Carla, and I can only hope, in time, that I will be a Quilter like you.
ReplyDeleteOoh I love them too - such a gorgeous colour palette and a fab block :)
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the colors you two are using and how it's all coming together. I WANT!
ReplyDeleteLove love these blocks.
ReplyDeleteI like how the left side is more limey green and the right side is darker. Great non-planned layout. LOL. Good call on the hippos - it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen smarties like you've shown in the US. Smarties to me is an entirely different candy.
