Broken Herringbone blocks for the Humility group of do.good stitches
I got together my first P.O.T.C block. Patchwork of the Crosses is a new to me block made with english paper piecing.
Summer is coming and I love being outside basting hexies in the early morning sun : )
I've been doing some free motion quilting. Not the easiest thing for me, but I know I can do it if I just keep
Look what came in the mail!!! It's my month to get blocks for the Mid Century Modern group and I asked the ladies for an arrow block using my tutorial. The top one is from Cindy, and the bottom is from Elizabeth. I love them!
Just look at all the kegs of delicious oils
and the vinegars
They also have syrups and honey made in the province. I thought I'd give a shout out to this new shop because I'm thrilled to have it here in our City.
My absolute favourite is Blood Orange infused Olive Oil with a Dark Chocolate Vinaigrette. A match made in Heaven : )
So if you're local, pop on by and sample some of the flavours. You'll be glad you did!
What is the floral print in your blue block? I've a small piece of that forever that I picked up at a garage sale...

ReplyDeleteI love infused oils and vinegars!!! Probably spend too much on them, just like fabric. Those bee blocks look great, and I'm loving the arrow blocks. And your FMQ looks excellent. Great work.

ReplyDeleteOh, that shop sounds like fun. My family loves olive oil + balsamic vinegar with homemade focaccia bread! Will have to spread the word to friends I have that live closer (so I can live vicariously ;o).
Your blocks are always a visual delight, Carla. Your broken herringbone blocks are quite simply gorgeous. Yum, Blood Orange infused Olive Oil with a Dark Chocolate Vinaigrette...now that does sound like heaven!!

ReplyDeleteHey Carla. I just made a couple of herringbone blocks for another bee too. Pulled the fabrics for your feather and am excited by the color grouping. Afraid it got pushed back last week though as I was sick and ended up in the hospital. Out now and recuperating so will get to it next weekend I hope. Sorry for the delay.

I understand your FMQ frustration, but it looks like you are doing a great job. The patchwork of the crosses is a lovely project too. A lady in my local group is making one, and I admire it each time we meet.

I guess I should go into our local olive oil specialty shop and try some flavors--just don't quite know what I'd do with all the different one, but I guess that's why I should give it a try!
