OCTOBER BLOCKS

Just in the nick of time, I got my Bee blocks done for this month.  They were easy ones. Perhaps that's why I procrastinated.........


For the Joy group of do.good stitches I made these blocks, which will be cut diagonally and re-assembled for a boys quilt.


Nicke asked for simple scrappy 9-patch blocks for the Heal group of do.good stitches


and for the Humility group of do.good stitches, these flying geese blocks done any which way we like.   I think I may need to make a quilt using these blocks.  (I think I say that every month....)
I love them!


Part of the fun of belonging to all these groups is the swaps that take place, especially as we get close to Christmas. This block is the start of a little swap I signed up for


Is it too cold for ice cream?? I'll post more details about this block when I get my quilt finished  : )

    It's NEVER too cold for ice cream in my opinion LOL!

    Those gees blocks are fabulous. I'd like to make a quilt with those too. Love your ice cram block!! It's still 80* here so it's not too cold to enjoy it.

    Scrappy is harder than people realise. You still have to decide which scraps go in! I love your happy colours.
    It is not too cold for ice-cream here!

    But wait...there's more lovely blocks. A quilt made of those flying geese blocks would make a gorgeous quilt and the ice cream block....so cute.

    Your blocks are so inspirational!!! I always drool over them. (Also, your stash. Amazing!) My “some day list” grows every time I visit your site…

    Also, my Spencer wants to know about that scrappy "boy block" in the first image. (The one behind the squares.) Is there a pattern for it, or did you just wing it?! He would love to know more.

    (I have a hunch that he want’s it in pillow form for his fort he’s working on.)

    All your bee blocks are lovely, but I especially love that ice cream cone! I saw this block floating around on Instagram and it really caught my eye. Looking forward to seeing your quilt.

    I always like the posts in Blogland where they show all the blocks they've been working on. While I admire your being a part of several bees, I don't know if I could keep up with all of that! The good side is, though, that you have a range of blocks to choose from when you are thinking about a new quilt, and you know if you like to sew them together or not!

    Had to pop over to see your flying geese after you mentioned them in your comment on my flying geese post. Made me smile because most bee blocks I do make me want to do my own quilt of them and that's exactly what you say here. Love your ice cream block and I looked at your post of the finished piece, it's another one of those I'd want to keep! - Chris :D
