I was so taken by a black/grey and turquoise quilt, that I immediately went digging through my stash for fabrics to make one similar.
I've had a hankering to do some easy piecing-just sewing squares together and this certainly satisfied that urge. Besides that, all these fabrics except one were in my stash. Who knew?
At this point I have no idea what I am going to do with this quilt. For now, I think it will live on my chair which is over 100 years old. The modern and the very old seem to work quite nicely together

I love Pinterest - and that lovely quilt in your chair is a perfect example of why :*) Love those colors together and the simplicity of the design - especially your quilting design - it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteFabulous colour combo! It's wonderful that you just decided to "stop, drop and quilt" -- with beautiful results.
ReplyDeleteI really like the quilting. V effective.

Sometimes the simplest ideas turn out the prettiest! What a lovely quilt Carla! The autumn trees in the first photo are gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect on that chair. AND the fabric combination is so great! The best quilts to me are the ones that are sooooo fun to make!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous quilt and I agree, it looks fabulous with your chair.
ReplyDeleteThe modern and old always live happily together; tis very eclectic. I can see many hours of you rocking in that gorgeous rocker atop your pretty quilt, Carla. Who would've thought that you would have most of those lovely fabrics in your stash! I concur, so often Pinterest gets it completely right!
ReplyDeleteOh, yay! This is yummy! Love that last pic and could not agree more. That sweet quilt looks right at home in the old rocker.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those colors. It looks gorgeous and sounds so soft and comfy.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful combination, Carla. Funny, I've had a hankering to do a simple patchwork quilt and your pretty version is convincing me that I MUST SEW ONE TOO. ;o)

ReplyDeleteLove the color combo. Sometimes it's just all about the fabrics! Your first photo is so awesome, btw! I was going to ask what size the squares were and then I did the math and figured it out myself...LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt!!! (That’s my kind of piecing right there!) And you found the perfect place for it to live… it works perfectly on that chair.
ReplyDeleteCarla, this is a striking quilt and love your idea of triple quilting lines. Good Job.
ReplyDeleteHopping over from NTT. Love the quilt! I have black and turquoise fabrics just calling my name from my stash too. Pintrest is great, but my list of quilts to quilt grows every time I go on there.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Awesome colour combo.
ReplyDeleteI did to do one of those Big easy. It looks so great!
ReplyDeleteLove the colour comnination and the quilting!
ReplyDeleteI should probably pay more attention to those Pinterest emails! This is beautiful. And I love it draped over that rocking chair.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have a fast finish! This one is so pretty with these color combinations. I love patchwork square quilts. I've been meaning to make one with my Liberty of London stash.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should bother with those Pinterest e-mails! Feels like a blind date to me: Oh, I know the perfect guy for YOU!
ReplyDeleteStill, this quilt is so pretty. Love a big easy quilt!
That's a fab combination - I'm recycling it back onto MY pinterest - I'll laugh if you get it again!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about hankering for some large-block/simple-block sewing. After fussing around with two circle blocks this month, I'm dying to just cut some stuff and sew!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is really charming and in such an interesting color combination--I love the photo outside, but that softer one on the rocking chair is also lovely. Great job!
