A JANUARY FINISH

It's a small finish but a finish just the same.  This little pillow was for no other reason than I wanted to make it : )  I really love how it turned out

A few weeks ago, I asked hubby if he would make me some ginormous knitting needles for a project I had planned.  I came home from work the other day and they were standing by my chair !

They are 5 feet tall

Here I am knitting a swatch.  I've taken on a project that is both exciting and terrifying at the same time.  More on that in the coming days/weeks.

It's so fluffy and soft.  Reminds me of Pavlova........minus the fruit : )

I'm linking up with Granny Maud's Girl for selfish sewing
and Finish It Up Friday and
wool on Sundays

have a lovely week-end

  3. I must say I am enthralled with those needles. How brilliant. I'm guessing you won't be knitting on the bus with those beauties. As for your gorgeous knit pillow, you will have to find somewhere special to put that pretty. =)

  22. I love the cushion, it's fun and combines both my favourite colour (purple) and a favourtie pastime of mine. I can't wait to see what you are going to do with the giant knitting. Your swatch looks amazing and would make for a gorgeous blanket. I'd love to try out some supersized knitting myself at some stage, the results always look magnificent to me. I look forward to seeing what you are going to create.

  24. Those needles are HUGE! I can't knit with little ones. I'd never manage with those. Looking forward to seeing what you are making with them.

  25. Oh WOW! How do you manage? Don't they get heavy? (one more question, sorry) What difference does the size make? I can't knit, obviously or maybe I'd have some of the answers. I do sew, however, and love (LOVE) your pillow!

  26. Your hubby made those? I wondered where one would buy such giant knitting needles. I know my local knitting show doesn't stock them! :)

  32. Those needles are AMAZING!! I can't wait to see the finished project! (And now I'm pondering how I could make gigantic needles... of course, I need to wait until the boys are grown to do it. Otherwise, they would be weapons. Oy.)

  33. What on earth are you knitting? And how do you manage such huge needles? Guess I will have to wait and see!!
