STAMP COLLECTING....

...of a different sort.  I have been having way too much fun with these little "stamps". At the last Moda club meeting, the lovely Lillie brought a little owl she had done and mounted on a canvas. She is making the quilt to match the wall hanging.  Because I have already made that quilt (for Scarlet) I thought I would do up one of these too. The idea of a postage stamp has been brewing, and I thought this a perfect opportunity to try it out.  A sort of "special delivery" to match the baby quilts I've made.

The background fabric is Canadian Cottage by Robyn Pandolph for Moda. It has the words to
'O Canada' on it, so I thought it was fitting for a Canadian stamp.
The 10 is for 2010 when she was born. The quilting is some stamp images I googled. Very simple but I think you get the idea. I embroidered the word "POST" with quilting thread.

Those eyes make me smile----every time :)

This one matches the Hometown birdie quilt I just finished. It has a 12 for a little one scheduled to arrive this year.

This is week 5 of the hex-a-long through Katja's shoppe. I am neglecting to work on my farmer's wife quilt because of it. Soon I hope to squeeze in a block or two.

Also, I finished my second cowl.  This one is not as soft as the first, but I like it just the same. As long as it's warm!!

That's it for this time. No sewing for a few days because I am looking after Scarlet, and then helping her daddy celebrate his birthday. Have a wonderful family filled week-end.

  12. Those stamps are so cute! Too bad the 10 and 12 aren't accurate reflections of our Canadian postal rates....
