This past weekend offered lots of sewing time for me. I basically had the place to myself. Hubby was working, kids were away, and I didn't have to work. This is the end result of the stack of bow tie blocks I showed you in the last post.
The three dimensional blocks went together fairly quickly.
The colours and prints in this are so soft and delicate. I have a box of this type of fabric and while sewing this I was considering digging it out of the closet : )
I had this piece of border fabric which I thought was the finishing touch as it's one of the fabrics in the quilt. I will hand it back to the owner today, and she will take it from there.
Quilt Stats:
43 x 52
fabrics are a mix of 5" squares

The 3-D look is very interesting. Lovely quilt.
Hi Carla! This is beautiful and those fabrics are very sweet! I mish flower fabrics. I haven't seen the pattern before; looks interesting. x Teje
I think you should dig your fabrics out of the closet. I haven't seen a 3-D quilt like this before. It's so soft and lovely!
Simply beautiful - just love the soft, pretty fabrics you've chosen.
xx
I love the 3d aspect!
Very sweet fabrics, and the 3-d aspect is very unique. I did a TON of sewing this week too, even with my husband and kids here, which isn't normally how it goes around here so I was pretty pleased.
It's beautiful Carla!
Such a pretty quilt.
So gorgeous... I adore these kinds of fabric and this is a really nice pattern too!

Very cool - I haven't seen blocks like these before but I love the texture they add. The fabrics make this such a soft sweet quilt.

You said that you 'played' and played you did!! Those fabrics are so, so sweet. I love the three dimensional effect. The owner is going to love this pretty quilt!!
Beautiful! So soft and pretty.
Oh Carla this quilt is just so beautifully cute. It would just be so wonderful to snuggle under it. Such pretty fabric. Philippa xx
Pretty, soft colors. So glad you have some totally free sewing time. I'm envious!
just so sweet.
This is so soft and pretty! I love the 3D look, too!
This turned out so pretty! The bow centers really add to it. It seems both vintage and modern at the same time.
Oh my, such a gorgeous quilt! All soft, delicate, interesting, and vintage-y. LOVE it.
I wish I had the skill and patience to sew a quilt.
Blessings...
Don't you love how much you can get done with an empty house? I love your baby quilt - very sweet!

such a sweet quilt. The fabrics are just lovely.
This is also called a Ten Minute Block or a 5 Minute Block. You can finish the 3-D pieces by "rolling" them and stitching to create a cathedral window look.
I have two on my blog in low volumes also, back in Aug 2012.
Lovely quilt.
Did you figure out why the first one shrank so much? Curious, isn't it?
Very cool effect!! And such sweet fabrics...
