A certain little mamma I know is expecting twins early November. She is having boys, and although these are not her first babies, the boy stuff she has is pretty well used. Did I need an excuse? I grabbed a Jelly Roll of 'Oink a Doodle Moo' and got to work.
The other half of the strips will make the second quilt. A perfect size at 36" square.
These little babies are joining life on a small hobby farm so I think this will be perfect for them.
Pattern is here
Yesterday I also made these little pants for a friends' grand daughter. They are from the book Handmade Beginnings by Anna Maria Horner. I've made them before and will be doing more probably for the twins.
the matching ribbon---so cute!
The baby shower is Sept 28th. Can I have two quilts done and two pair of pants? I think I can, I think I can!
Have a fabulous day.
You definitely can - just go for it! These are both so lovely :-) I saw the jellyroll jam pattern at the Moda Bakeshop - it looks fab, so it's definitely going on my to-make list too.
I saw the Jelly Roll sitting there and wondered who was taking it home. Now I know. I'm sure the twins will love their quilts. The pants are adorable as well.
So much cuteness! Love that "Moo" line... I have a charm pack of it for the next little boy project that comes along. I used to sew for my daughter when she was a baby/toddler. Wish I had kept more of them!
I saw that tutorial too! It's on my list of to-do's...which is a mile long. =) Love your quilt top!
Such perfect little quilts for twin boys. I love that pants pattern too...it is my go-to gift for new babies.
All adorable and I fell into the Jelly jam trap as well ;-)
You can (depends how you plan to quilt)! Beautiful quilts and those cute fabrics are just perfect! x Teje
That fabric is so cute. I love the horse shoes which I'm sure will bring you lots of luck for speedy quilting!!
Doubly delightful, Carla - love jelly rolls and yours are great :)
As always, beautiful work! I am sure the parent's to be will be thrilled to have somethings - quilts and pants - new for the new babies!
As soon as I saw these popping up on Instagram, I started eyeing my small collection of jelly rolls, turned out great!
I know you can, I know you can! Very cute - both the quilts and the pants!
Those pants are way too cute!!!
Love those pants! Your friends granddaughter is going to look adorable in them!
I have no doubt that you'll get two pants and two quilts done in a week. I personally wouldn't touch that goal with a 10 foot pole but I have every confidence that you'll get it done!
You're sure making cute stuff! The quilt and pants are adorable. Believe it or not, I've never made anything using a jelly roll. I still like the old-fashioned way of making a quilt!
So darn cute!
Love the quilt and those pants are just too cute!! Happy sewing! xo Heather
Sounds like you're busy there!
Love the fabric for the baby quilts, so cheerful and bright.
Those little trousers are so cute!
You can do it!
Of course you can - such cute makes!
I have book marked that pattern too.
such a great idea. I thought of going to my stash for the strips and see what i could come up with. I keep saying i want to have a couple of baby quilts done a head, but havent got there yet. Just keep sewing!
So very cute Carla, and the little pants are adorable, a very lucky little girl.....
SOOO fun!!! I love boy fabrics...sometimes they are just a fresh of breath air amongst all the fun girly quilting fabrics! I think these jelly roll jam quilts are right up my alley. Quick, simple, and modern. I 'm looking forward to making a few!
At first I thought maybe you were making some yummy blackberry or strawberry jam but this quilt is pretty yummy too :) i think you work well with a deadline and so i am sure you will finish your amazing projects on time. The little pants and ribbon tag are so cute!! Quilt, Carla, quilt!!!
I think so too! Cute gifts :)
So very cute! Love that the fabric you used for your two quilts. Saw that pattern too and thought it quite clever. Cute little britches too!
Oh, how she is going to love her gifts, Carla!
Both are cute! You can get them done.
I know what you mean about the Jelly Roll Jam quilts - I have a to-do list about as long as I am tall (which isn't THAT long - I'm 5'3"), but I really didn't need to add another quilt or two to the mix... I still have to start sewing my B&W Swoon quilt, and I have a Twister quilt partly assembled, among other things - but, if I find the right jelly roll on sale somewhere, I'll probably go for it. I've even thought of just using strips of fabrics that I have in my stash!
If you succeed in making two quilts and two pants, you are genius!
