It didn't take long to get set up : )
Some people can just sit and relax. I can't. When the opportunity presented itself, I spent some time sewing
My space was limited so I decided on another Charm Pack Cherry quilt.
When we got home, my daughter and I went down to the old train to take some pictures.
This was made from the Boho line for Moda. Love it (even though I managed to get the same fabric right beside each other )
and a couple more pics from our trip. This is an old pub in Victoria. Wouldn't it be a gorgeous quilt shop???
on the way home we saw a flying saucer...............

Carla you are absolutely amazing. I cannot believe you can set up a sewing room and rustle up a quilt top in a hotel room. I feel so ashamed of my missed opportunities. Philippa xx
Looks like you took great advantage of your space! I did that a little bit while my husband was traveling and I went along, fun to have something to do!!
Awesome UFO! Congrats on taking advantage of your "spare" time!
Very productive! I hope you had a good visit while you were there. My hubby and I are going to a wedding on Quadra Island then 4 nights in Victoria in May...hoping to do some great sightseeing and shopping while there.
You amaze me!!!!
I adore that quilt pattern, and I love how you picked the train track for your photo shoot!!!

Great fabric selection, and i love it with the light gray. Going to New Hampshire in May with my hubs for a long weekend - I think I'll bring my machine along, too!
OMG that is so like me....go on holiday and take a load of crafting stuff to do, lol. Love that quilt. I need to run up a quick bedspread so am thinking squares and rectangles may be the quickest way to go. Oh and love that pub, x
Lovely trip! definitely nice to have something to do during the down time, I mean, you can't sightsee ALL the time. LOL!
What a perfect way to sew up charms!
I love bringing my sewing machine to the ocean and sew with a view of the water. Beautiful pictures by the train!
Sewing in a hotel....something I've never considered, and definitely not something my husband would ever suggest. haha
I laughed when I saw your photo set up in the hotel room! You look like you have enough fabric there to make ten quilts! That train makes a great backdrop for quilt photos!
Way to sew up a storm!
You really got to love sewing to set up in a hotel room, and I totally get it.
Great quilt finish and photo shoot.
You sure don't waste any time girl!
You set up a sewing machine in your hotel room....really!! Wow, Carla....that do beat all!!! Yes, that gorgeous building would make the perfect quilt shop....perhaps you could/should!!! ;D
I've taken my sewing stuff to a rented holiday house, but your dedication to craftiness beats mine by far!
I always take my machine kwilting stuff if traveling in the car! And will quilt wherever I can find space. I get it!
Now I feel like a slacker for not taking my sewing with me when we take a trip. It never occurred to me to take sewing with me as my machine weighs a ton but I could get a lightweight machine to take. Don't know how that would go over but I could try.
Love your new Cherry Charm Pack quilt. I think I'll have to do one this weekend. And yes, that pub would be a fantastic quilt shop.
You need to get a featherweight and then you'll have more room for fabric!! LOL!! I"m going to try that Cherry Charm Pack Quilt idea!
My hubby is happy for me to bring my knitting (actually not sure happy is the word, but he tolerates) but he hatest he sewing machine... You are luck although I can knit in the car so for your holiday travelling it is probably better too! Your are so right about that pub, it would be amazing!
You have such a wonderful husband! Love that quilt...and the boho looks amazing in that pattern. Glad you had a nice time.
It's great you were able to get a quilt top done on your trip. Sounds like you had a lovely trip!
I love sewing away from home!!! Another great quilt! A bit warmer today but snow in the forecast next week. We are heading west to see the kidos. Cant wait!
Ah-ha! This explains why you get so much done. ;o) Totally love how you managed to get a top done on your time away. You're amazing!
You have a very thoughtful husband and you used your time well. Like you I don't like to just sit and relax for more than a few minutes, but would have been more inclined to take some epp.
I think that would be my ideal holiday!
Welcome to my world! I love sewing in my hotel room on my lay overs!
How fantastic and so very organised. well done you x
Carla! You are so amazing! You inspire me to take advantage of the small moments of sewing I may have. I need to look a little harder from now on. Even though it's hard to do when you have six kids, I could sew more if I tried! Love your quilt!
Wow! What a great use of your time , with a fabulous outcome. I love your quilt top, just beautiful.
My daughter Liane used to manage that pub,and lived a few blocks away! Cool!
I took a sewing machine last year to Monterrey, and in between sightseeing and lunches and dinners with old-time friends, had a blast sewing away. And I got a LOT done! Sewing there is different--not as many distractions, I think. Love the final quilt!
great way to spend time on your trip. fantastic quilt.
that cloud is so cool and aren't you glad you had your camera?
