Back in February I put this top together from blocks I received from the Bee Purposeful group. I seem to get hung up when it comes to the quilting but the other day I basted and set to quilting right away.
I bribed one of my boys, and off we went for a bit of a photo shoot : )
We went down into a ravine close to our house for these pictures. I was a little nervous after walking past the sign warning of bears in the area. My son assured me they are more afraid of me than I am of them. I doubt that............
I quilted it with wavy lines from side to side with a variegated thread
For the back, I used a Fandango print from my stash. The binding is a Bella solid in Prune.
Love it.
This is now on it's way to Little Miss Shabby where it will be used to raise funds for her Church's mission work. I'm having a hard time letting this one go. Perhaps I will have to make one for myself.
This is my 3rd finish for quarter two. Whoop whoop!! original list is here

Super quilt and great location. Great colours and design. Well done to your model... is that a "thumbs up" from him that I spy in one of them?
My gosh I can almost smell the pine trees! This is a stunning quilt - I bet it will draw a lot of attention at the Church.

Oh, what's a li'l bear or two when a photo shoot is involved....glad that you lived to tell the tale of your gorgeous quilt!! It is beautiful and the photo shoot is glorious. I don't suppose your 'beauty' could fly away here to the bottom of the world...no... I didn't think so. How wonderful that it will find a new home, giving someone who is in need of a warm and cozy hug much delight!!
This is a beautiful quilt. And you have such a beautiful place for the photos!
Beautiful. I love this.
It's true - bears are terrified of quilters. They heard we love to cut and stitch bear paws and word spread... :-)
It's really pretty, Carla - that colour scheme is so cheery without being in your face perky!
That quilt is lovely. I can see why it's hard to let it go. I'm glad that you didn't have an encounter with a bear :)

Fabulous quilt Carla, and a great photo shoot too! Bet those bears would have been stunned by your quilt too :)
Cute quilt, great pictures. Take a bear bell, and make lots of noise, and hopefully, any bears will go the other direction.
Beautiful, x
Beautiful quilt in a beautiful setting!! I would have a hard time letting it go too!

Gorgeous finish and as usual I always like the photos you get outside. I'm just now trying my hand at some when I get a chance.
STUNNING quilt, landscape, and photographs! WOW!
Awesome quilt...and landscape! I can see why you had a hard time letting that quilt go.
Your quilt is lovely and those pictures are awesome!
This is such a fabulous quilt - the colour palette is brilliant and I love flying geese - I think I might have to have a go at something like this myself someday. I understand how you feel about letting a loved quilt go - sometimes I have to hang one in my bedroom and live with it for a few weeks in its finished form before I let it go.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing on le challenge.
It is so beautiful and what amazing photographs! A stunning quilt for a great cause. Thank you for linking up to le challenge :)
What a beautiful quilt! I think it's true that bears are scared of quilters.
