Nicke asked for these Greek Cross blocks for our do.good stitches group. They were fun to make so I made her an extra one. Besides, things look better in three's : )
I mention this group quite a bit here on the blog. In case you are wondering what it's all about, this next picture sums it all up. We make quilts for Hospice

Look at that sweet sweet face. That's why I love doing it. This is the quilt that I put together.
Emily just finished this quilt that we all made blocks for too
Another group in the do.good stitches bee that I am part of is the Humility group. We make quilts for the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota
this month I made these two letters for the quilt Brittney is putting together
Now more than ever, I want to make a quilt with words.
Have a great week end. Mine will be full of sewing : )

I hope you post a pic of Nicke's final quilt. Your black and white blocks are striking and I would enjoy seeing the finished product. Great job.
Lovely! What will the M and G be a part of?
I've made many quilts with words, and it is fun. Check out Tonya Ricucci's book Word Play Quilts on how to make free-pieced letters -- no templates or paper piecing, just a method.
I like word quilts too! The toughest part is choosing the word, though... or the words.
Awwww - I love that face too! I also love the Greek Cross blocks. And, well, everything else you do. ;)
What a beautiful face!! The black and white blocks look great as do the letters.
Ooh love the letters my plan for making one is forming in my head...I need to get it down onto paper...
I never knew what the dogoodstitches group was before. Hospice is a good thing to quilt for.
Oh yes, I'm with you - a quilt with words!!!! I've always loved your churndash quilt, but to see that smile on her face makes it even more beautiful!!!
I love that photo. I made my gran a quilt but it stays over the back of her couch. It is on display for visitors, but she won't do anything to get it dirty, like snuggle up in it!
Your blocks are all gorgeous, Carla. Love the bold greek cross blocks best! Happy sewing!
How rewarding to have the photo of the hospice quilt that you put together. ...such a worth project. How do you participate?
Great post, about all your bee blocks, and thanks for reminding us of the impact our quilts can make. I, too, want to make a quilt with words. Maybe we should form a bee group just for word quilts and see if it rolls? (You sound like you probably have a few too many bees going on, but just thought I'd throw it out there)

Oh I never heard of that block - looks great!
Such a wonderful worth while cause. My Mom had hospice care and it was so valuable during a difficult time.
Love the picture of the recipient. She looks pleased.
I like those greek cross blocks especially in the black and white
