ALL THE BLOCKS (and a birthday girl)

Oh my goodness! April nearly did me in trying to get all of my bee blocks made. Some were quite time consuming but finally, they are done!

Stephanie from the Mid Century Modern bee asked for this 'Gorgeous Gertie" block. It can be found in issue 17 of Love Patchwork and Quilting.

It's foundation paper pieced. This is one of the sections before and after trimming.

9 sections complete and all sewn together.  I really love it.

I know that Karen has been wanting to learn this technique. If you are trying to avoid punching people, this may not be the block for you.    haha   : )

Note: no family members were harmed during the making of this block.........

Jaime asked for the Supernova block

and Rebecca asked for Snails Trail blocks. In all my years of quilting, I've never made this block until now

Nicke asked for these improv log cabin blocks. I had so much fun diving into my scrap bin that I made her four

then Francine asked for a star block

and Jaclyn wanted this 16" bento box that she will slice in 4 and re-arrange with all the others

It has been a very productive couple of days and my scrap bins have a little breathing room.

and lastly, my little grand daughter turned 3!  We got her a bicycle and she was thrilled  : )

That little smile just melts me.

Enjoy your week

Gorgeous Gertie is....well quite gorgeous. My goodness, I can see why you might wanted to harm someone. I love those snail trail blocks. Actually all your blocks are lovely. Your grand daughter, Carla is very sweet. Cool bike there; I love all those streamers.

After making all those blocks, you don't have any time to make anything for yourself. Lots of lovely blocks.

I've said it before- you are in lots of bees Carla! Gorgeous Gertie was a challenge indeed. Can you imagine what I was thinking when mine took so long to turn up.....?! Once was enough!

That first block is stunning! And a true test of patience I imagine!

I do love the Gertie block too! Your colors are spot on! Family has to know when to keep an arms length away during those times...or else!

I have never joined a 'Bee', maybe one day. For some reason they scare me!

All of the blocks are fabulous but that Gorgeous Gertie really sings! Love it!

All the blocks are lovely Carla. But none are as cute as your little grand daughter. Enjoy your time with her, she'll grow up before you know it.

I love the gold, pink, and grey palette of the Gertie block, it reminds me of the quilt I am *still* making for my niece...

That's a lot of blocks! The "gorgeous gertie" block is absolutely stunning... I really do think that could be the block that convinces me to try paper piecing (although I will start simple, promise!). The supernova block keeps popping up in my pins as well... and yours sings!

And happy birthday to your granddaughter! I never realized how close she and milo were in age!

Your bee blocks are beautiful, but your grand daughter takes the cake! What a cutie - and that hair! It reminds me of my daughter's strawberry hair.

You are always inspiring with the block exchanges you do, Carla! This week has been so lost on me and I've not even printed off the pattern yet for Stephanie's block...here it is May 1. Hopefully, I can get it done this weekend...but, I admit to being a little overwhelmed even thinking about it after hearing how time consuming it is. Everyone has done beautiful blocks!

Your grand daughter looks thrilled to bits with her bicycle.

Your first snail trail!!! I think mine was in my first sampler, one of my first quilts.
I am very impressed by the MCMB block. That is ambitious for a bee!
You made a quilt's worth of bee blocks here!

I love Gorgeous Gertie - that must be one of Lynne (Goldsworthy)'s BOM blocks? It's just her style!

I can see how April blocks could do you in. I'm lucky to get one bee block done and mailed on time. Love the colors for Stephanie's block and the super nova too.
