It seems a little dust has settled here since I last posted. However no dust has landed on me!  It's been hair straight back these last couple of weeks.  I've been busy working, sewing, knitting, and sourcing out suppliers : )  Oooooh the goodies I'm going to have in the shop!

First things first tho. I made a spelling bee block for Lisa. Can you guess?

I had no spider fabric in my stash (ack!) but I had ants. 'Spider' was one of the words she wanted for her quilt

My living room has boxes and boxes of yarn. More is expected any day and it's fun to see!

I'm always inspired by samples when I go into shops so I've been working on a few.  Zauberball is a sock yarn that I fell for years ago. There is so much more you can make than just socks : )  But wouldn't they be fabulous?

.........and the colours !

Also, I have been working on a 'river rock' scarf with wool from Smith and Ewe. I love her yarns and she's local too

I am off to have coffee with Carol. She's knit me a couple of samples for the shop and I am ever so grateful. Thanks Carol!

It's so much fun to see your excitement about your new shop!! The Zauberball yarn looks so amazing. I'll have to look for it locally. I'll likely never get to your shop, but you never know!

I almost wish I was going to Canada with my hubby in May to check out your shop.
The river rock scarf pattern is lovely. It sits so flat!

Your shop is going to be amazing. I love that "sock" yarn!

Your spider word is so cute. I have some of that ant fabric and love it.

How exciting. I think making samples is a great idea; I find it so hard to imagine how the yarn is going to look once it is knitted together, so I mostly avoid multi-coloured yarn just in case, but your beanie looks so great that I would definietly be more inclined to buy the yarn.

The scarf is beautiful, and that ant fabric is very cute, too.

Sounds like you are making great strides on the new store. Samples are such an important part of any store - good for you to delegate helpers too!

Will you have Madelinetosh yarn?

Carla said...

Barb****** I can't reply because you have no e-mail attached to your blogger profile so I hope you see this. There is a several month wait for Madelinetosh, and with our dollar being so low........
I do hope in the future to carry it : )
