MOROCCAN TILES

Does anyone else have trouble naming their quilts? I pondered this for quite some time, when I thought, maybe it doesn't have to have the word hexagon in it at all!  I thought it kind of resembled tile, so I googled "Images for Moroccan tiles" and a whole page of awesome inspiration popped up. I think my quilt kind of looks like some of what I saw, so Moroccan Tile it is : )

When I was taking these pictures, no one screeched to a halt and said "Hey! That reminds me of when I was in Morocco.........."

However, one lady did say, "Are you actually going to publish those pictures somewhere?"  Too funny.

The 'tiles' measure 17 3/4" across. The quilt measures 72 x 85.  Another scrap buster.

When I made Carli's quilt, about 9 years ago, I called it Tumbling Blocks. How boring is that?
This is one of the images from google.

Had I known about this site then, I would have called it "Steps to the Palace" or  "Palace Floor" or something much more creative I'm sure.

Anyway, this is as close as I will ever get to Morocco, so I am going to enjoy these while I can.

Have an amazing week-end.

Linking up with Amanda for Finish it up Friday.

both are awesome! is the strip one out of jelly rolls? and the hexies I assume were done by hand?

I'd call them beautiful! But "Fred "would be a good runner up. :0)

I've only named a few of mine, as I find that picking the right name is usually as much work as creating the quilt. I love the name you picked - and the quilts!

I'm impressed that you name your quilts. I had a hard enough time coming up with baby names. If I'd named my babies the way I name my quilts they'd be named "Blue-eyed girl" and "Brown-eyed boy" - don't think that'd fly!

Moroccan Tiles is beautiful and has a great name. Did you did the hexies by hand? Love your pictures!

Whoa, so many hexies! I like your strippy hexagon quilt, too - the grey border really makes the hexagons stand out!

Great job on the scrap busting! I don't really name my quits, I just call them by their recipient's name, like "Kelsey's quilt" or "Naomi's quilt" usually.
