This past week I taught a beginner quilt class at the shoppe. It's always fun to watch the ladies go from looking "doubtful" to excited, when they see their quilts come together. I had six in the class, but two escaped before I could snap their picture. We learn three different blocks. The rail fence, a four-patch with an alternate block, and the Ohio star. That way, they can go on to make another quilt using any one of those blocks. Here are four of the ladies with their finished (almost) quilts.
Way to go ladies!!
Also today, I am linking up with Lily's Quilts
for fresh sewing day.
Great quilt ideas for beginning quilters. I think the smiles on their faces show how delighted they are. Well done!
Hurray for three new quilters!
How fun! What a feeling of accomplishment they must have. :o)
Those look great! The only two quilts I have completed so far were the railroad fence and the ohio star design ;-)
I would say you made some Ladies very happy.
I had so much fun in the class! I have finished my border and working on a small project from the Quilting magazine I bought...if you'd like you can check me out at
