QUILTING 101

This past week I taught a beginner quilt class at the shoppe. It's always fun to watch the ladies go from looking "doubtful" to excited, when they see their quilts come together. I had six in the class, but two escaped before I could snap their picture.  We learn three different blocks. The rail fence, a four-patch with  an alternate block, and the Ohio star.  That way, they can go on to make another quilt using any one of those blocks. Here are four of the ladies with their finished (almost) quilts.

Way to go ladies!!

Also today, I am linking up with Lily's Quilts for fresh sewing day.

Great quilt ideas for beginning quilters. I think the smiles on their faces show how delighted they are. Well done!

Those look great! The only two quilts I have completed so far were the railroad fence and the ohio star design ;-)
Good choice!
