A HEXIE FINISH

These hexies were on my list for the third quarter of the finish along. After some thought I decided to turn them into an Open Wide zipper pouch after Linda assured me I could make one. I'm not a fan of sewing in zippers......

So, the hexies went from this

to this

After cutting the hexagon piece in half it was a little shy of the measurements given in the tutorial, but I forged ahead

Instead of the usual square sewn onto the end of the zipper, I used a left over hexie. I thought it was a nice touch   : )

This little pouch is perfect for my sock knitting.  I may even gift it right along with the socks !

This is my second finish for the third quarter.  A finish is a finish no matter how small.......

Love the little pouch and a great way to use up hexies or scraps. Its given me an idea for using my zips as I never think to leave them overlapping at the ends, thanks, x

I love your zippered pouch! The hexies are so addictive - I haven't the slightest idea what I will do with them, but every evening when I watch tv I am making more and more!

Yes, a finish is a finish, and this is a very cute finish. Hexies are fun and a little addictive, aren't they? Instead of sewing what I should be sewing, I am basting hexies in the evenings.

This is darling, Carla! I'm so into hexies these days that I think I must just start sewing some together to come up with a bag for myself... though in truth, yet another bag is the last thing I need! Good for you to have a finish, in any case. Those are always the best!

Way to use up those hexies (always a challenge). And you do it so sweetly--what a darling little bag. Great idea to use a hexie for a zipper pull; so cute and so clever!

The hexie on the end of the zipper pull was a genius idea. That sock yarn is such a gorgeous color! Socks--definitely on my learn-to-do list. I wish I could sit right next to you and knit together...

I'm so far behind on my blog reading.....sorry to miss this darling project...so cute. Is it comfy to wear hand knitted socks? I've never owned a pair nor known anyone who has, actually! I bet they are wonderful.
