Finally, this top is done! Back in May it was my turn to receive blocks from the Mid Century Modern group I am in. I asked them for arrow blocks using my tutorial. If they wanted, they could send a feather block instead. I arranged and re-arranged and fretted over the layout of this quilt. I asked certain family members their opinion so many times, that they started to hide when they heard me calling their names........
Anyway, this is the layout I decided on
I was a bit concerned while filling in the background with low volume fabrics that it might be too busy. I nearly scrapped the whole thing, but my daughter said "Mom just keep going!"
Now that it's together I'm quite pleased with it and really glad I did : )
Some of the ladies sent me signature blocks and I found a way to include them
Carla sent me this little arrow and I just had to include it too
I did a google search of Navajo rugs and this pattern was in one so I made a block using half square triangles just to give it a little something extra
I haven't a clue how I am going to quilt this, but for now I'm going to work on something more mindless----like hexagons : )

Hi Carla! This looks gorgeus! And your photos are again fantastic! x Teje
I love the quilt flimsy, it's so different and artsy! Now that is a modern quilt, if I do say so myself, so much interest to find, I just want to keep looking and looking at it! good job, Carla!
Your daughter was right to advise you to just keep going. It has turned out marvellously.
love it, great use of low volume for the background
oh I love this and the background is perfect! I like your extra Navaho inspired block - nice focal point with the arrows and feathers....
Beautiful, I love the arrows! Another great quilt!!
That's turned out really well. Love it, x
I love the random extra blocks. I love the setting. I love the quilt. Gorgeous, beautiful, incredible. Can't wait to have it in the shop. ;)

What a lovely piece Carla! This would win an award in an art show it is such an original piece! Just beautiful!!!
Looks fantastic, Carla! Love the LV mix with the feathers and arrows. You were so right to include that Navajo inspired block. It is the perfect "something extra"!

Very cool. I like the inclusion of the Navajo motif. Awesome setting for the photo too.
It's fantastic. I love the use of low volume and how you integrated all the elements.
I am enamoured with how this has turned out so far... I kept seeing all the blocks pop up around the web. All the low-volume backgrounds work so well (always a bit of a risk in a bee) but then, you've got an exceptional group of ladies in yours.
I have no idea how you're going to quilt that but I'm sure looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
I love it!
Love it! The Navajo feature and the little pink 'thing' at the top are great extras! Hand quilting to finish?!
All that fretting has worked a treat. Your flimsy really is a joy. Happy hexi-ing!
OMGosh....that is FABULOUS!!!!! I love it.
