It started with a quilt I saw in this book 'Imagine Quilts'
I played around with the size of block so I could use a charm pack of low volume prints that I had.
Also, the smallest of scraps were put to use here
Now I need to decide on some sashing. Well would you look at that! There is a blazing oops in one of the rows. Good thing they aren't sewn together yet : )

Yup took me a moment to find the "blazing oops" so I guess it was not so "blazing". Great way of also reducing the scrap stash.

I like how the second from bottom, second from right looks like a present with the butterfly wings just poking above the coloured "ribbon".

Well...now that you mention the oops I did find it. Lucky catch on your part. Love the colors. I do need to find more low volumes with lettering and graphics since I tend more towards tone on tone.

Is it wrong for me to feel excited about finding, that is *going back* and finding, the not-so-blazing oops? As a non-quilter it feels like I'm learning something. I love seeing the way you put your gorgeous quilts together.
Oh, what a lovely combination, Carla. Those low volume fabrics work beautifully in this design. I'm in love with the random bright pops of colour - keeps the eyes moving!

LOVE all the fabric assortment going on there.
I'm fairly new to quilting and one of the tips I learnt was to take a photo of all your blocks before sewing them together. That has saved me a few mistakes when looking at the quilt on the pc, for wrong placement or too many of the same colours near to each other etc. Also good to remind myself where the blocks belong if they get moved before sewing back together. And I really like this new quilt; lovely colours :)

Okay, so I'm feeling sort of dumb, but is the oops that two blocks were the same in the same row? I can't see that as a mistake, but just a "need to keep moving it around some more." If there is another "mistake," I certainly can't see it in this charming little quilt. I love reading your blog!!

Your quilt is very pretty! What a great way to use charms and scraps. I find it helps to take a picture of my block layout before sewing.
