I drew up a bit of a layout the other day to help me with yardage etc. The colours in this Persimmon line seem to work for both my son and his bride to be. Not too girly yet there is something going on with each print.
We discussed some arrows around the outside to make it bigger without me having to make a bazillion of these blocks....
( as a side note--I see people pinning the arrow tutorial all the time so I checked my stats and that page has been viewed 8449 times. Wow. )
So this is it so far. The anvil blocks will be 4 x 5 rows with arrows on three sides. I'm also toying with the idea of their initials between the two bottom arrows but we'll see if I can pull it off.....
I'm excited to be closing in on a finish
Please ignore the pile of projects on that table. Once she said yes, nothing else mattered : )

That is going to be amazing. Those arrows make an incredible border.

they are going to have a wonderful quilt to treasure x
Perfect quilt for a perfect couple! Those arrows border your anvil blocks perfectly. I must say, Carla, I thought the pile of projects to the side would be a lot higher! ;)
This is going to be another wonderful quilt made by you!
Your layout looks great Carla!
This is fantastic!
How fun - it will be fabulous.
This is coming along splendidly! It is going to be a very special quilt! (It's funny how something we make gets 'pinned' so many times! I have a block I made a long time ago that continues to be pinned, over and over.....)
It's going to be wonderful!
Hi Carla! This is going to be fantastic quilt! They will love it! x Teje
This is going to be beautiful! I love the block! I'm one of those who has clicked your arrow tutorial...love it!

You're making wonderful progress. And I'm not surprised your arrow tutorial is getting lots of love. It's a great block.
They will cherish it!
This is looking great. It's going to be gorgeous :)
These colors and block patterns are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I've been searching for a good wedding quilt pattern for one of my closest friends and I think this is going to point me in the right direction! Thanks for the hearty dose of inspiration. :) I just discovered your blog, so I will definitely be checking back in to see your progress and to see what else you're working on.
They are both going to be thrilled!
This will be such a beautiful quilt! Love the arrows too. Are you using Moda grunge for the background? It’s gorgeous!!
I’m swooning over this even *more* now that it has your arrows in it! This is going to be one stunning quilt! And I love the attitude that “once she said yes, nothing else mattered…” I felt that way with both my sister’s wedding and my sister-in-love’s wedding. :)
It's going to be fabulous!
oh this is going to be so so nice!
Oh, yes. Wedding projects take priority. I am still in the deluded I-have-heaps-of-time stage, which will morph one day into panic-the-wedding-is-next-month stage very soon.
Just looking amazing. How long does it take you to make a block?
beauty! looking forward to seeing your quilting too. xo
haha! Love your quilt plan and especially glad that she said yes and you are all so thrilled about it! yay!!
Wonderful blocks!!
Carla, you are such a talented quilt designer! This is going to be fabulous!!
Love what I see - this will be so awesome!
So beautiful. I recently had been working on a medallion quilt with paper pieced arrows I'd designed but after a printing scale issue it's been set aside. I'm going to have to follow your blog to let your progress on this quilt inspire me to unpack that project from the "if you can't see me, you can't be mad at me" box.
Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Oh my, so gorgeous!
