SOME FARMING and a FAREWELL

My youngest son is leaving town-- Sniff : (    He is off to bigger and better things.  I told him I think he should come to dinner every night until he moves. Apparently, he thought I was serious because I have seen him more in the last 10 days than I have since the fall.  We will certainly miss having him around.

Yesterday, I felt the need for some "retail therapy" so hubby took me on a little road trip. It's always nice to get out of town for a few hours and see different things. We stopped at a couple of quilt shops and I picked up some flannel backings for baby quilts, and some stuff I thought I couldn't live without.

These alphabet bugs had to come home with me for no other reason other than that they are so stinkin  cute!

After we got home I hit the sewing room and did two farmers wife blocks.

This one nearly got treated to a blow torch

Not too bad but I will lose a point or two when I put the sashing on.
Blessings on your day.

My son and his family (my one and only grandchild) moved to San Antonio. It is SO hard to have them live far away. I totally get the sadness and the retail therapy! Your work is beautiful as always. Off to the retreat in 1 hour!

Love that alphabet bug fabric. Do you know the name of the fabric line?

hello anonymous. There is no e-mail address with your comment so I will answer here. It is called Mayfly Buddies by Tony Fornandes

I had to laugh at your comment about the block being treated to a blow torch. I've had a few of those blocks in the past week and I'm certain a blow torch would have been too nice! :)

with two uncommunicative, rooms like tips, can't be bothered studying, showering, exercising, helping, participating..... 15 year olds living at home I almost look forward to the day when I might actually miss them when they leave. Yours must have past that stage. Sorry to hear he is leaving - and bless your hubby for taking you out!

i am so sorry about your son moving! my kids are still so little that i don't have to worry about that for a long time. my mother in law on the other hand is beside herself, so lonely without her kids (after 7 kids they are all finally out of the house, she begged the last one to stay) i still haven't started my farmers wife blocks but i hear that some of them truly deserve the blow torch!
