A LITTLE APPLIQUE

Applique is usually something I steer clear of, but when Elizabeth of the Mid Century Modern bee asked for a block to make a quilt similar to one I made a while back, I knew this little block could finally come to life.  This block has been in my head forever and every sampler quilt needs a bowl of hexies don't you think?

and also these little whirly things will fit in too   ( some good light would sure be nice )

I really enjoyed making these blocks even though appliquƩ isn't my thing

Also for the Humility group of do.good stitches I made these blocks to be part of a girls quilt

all those little half square triangles took a while, but it's done  !

That's it for this Monday

Oh, I agree, a bowl full of hexies is quite nice and it came from your head to the block quite nicely. Your colors are always a love.

Are hexies really appliquƩ? I guess they are when they are put in a bowl. Hope you are feeling better.

Thought I'd caught your blog with my comments, but we post our blocks so many places, I obviously missed jotting you a note here! I have your lovely blocks up on my wall, and I must admit to really admiring your appliquƩ. The pieces just float on the top of the background, without any tugging or tension. You are definitely a masterful needlework artist! Thank you so much for my blocks. I especially love the hexie basket, yes I do!
