IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

There's been a bit of construction going on this week. These house blocks have been a lot of fun to piece.

My neighbourhood is getting big fast!

I need to stop and re-read the instructions because I'm a bit lost right now. Time to sew my pieces together into rows and go from there.  I think the quilt sort of 'twinkles'  : )

Thanks so much for all the nice comments of my last post. A couple of readers suggested a hat to match.  I do have a hat on the needles but it's not turquoise. Perhaps the next one, as a baby can never have too many hats.

Enjoy your week.

I love your neighborhood of houses. Can't wait to see the "final".

Your town sure does twinkle! It's beautiful! I have thought the Jen Kingwell "My Small World" quilt would look fabulous in solids! Sadly my stash wouldn't allow me to do this!

Your houses are looking good Carla! I'm sewing block 8 today and I think I went cross eyed at one point :) I'm starting to wonder about how to quilt this! Maybe some hand quilting....
Baby hat=adorable.

Your houses make me think of those soft summer nights when the colours flatten out and the windows shine. It's lovely!

I love your houses and the yellow windows do seem to twinkle! The baby hat is too cute for words. The colours you are using really speak to me!

Carla, I love your houses - the colors are wonderful. I bought a bundle of Kaffe shot cottons, but the fabrics, while lovely, seem too thin for this project. Can you tell me where you got your solids?
Keep growing the neighborhood!
best,
Jody

**********JODY I've tried to reply but alas you have no e-mail address on your profile ; (
I've used Moda Bella Solids for my houses. They are delicious and were purchased at Katja's Quilt Shoppe. Button on my sidebar

I love your use of solids in this. I usually prefer patterns, but the plain fabrics here seem the perfect choice. Do you just have the top corner to do? Almost there!

Can I come and live in your neighborhood and wear cute little hats, too? Fun to see these projects take shape under your skilled and caring hands.

Your houses are coming along nicely and they sure do twinkle. How big are you aiming for?

ahhh . . . now I'm catching up and see where this fun idea came from. I really like the variation in yellows for the windows.
