FINISHES

These socks have been on my needles since last winter.  I think I was procrasti-knitting  : )

Anyway............they are finally finished so I have one stocking stuffer at least

I entered a knitters fibre swap and got a package all the way from Japan!  I am really happy with the yarns I was sent. Lots of knitting in my future with these pretties

My little grandson arrived ahead of schedule by 2 weeks.  I met him just a few hours after he was born.  The next day before we went out for another visit, I knit up this super soft chunky blanket.
One can't arrive empty handed ya know

The yarn is Bernat Mega Bulky in the colour linen.  I cast on 30 stitches on 19mm needles and just did some simple stocking stitch with some garter stitch thrown in. I went through 2 balls in a couple of hours and was done!

The best finish of all is this:

Here is the little sweet pea.  He is THE cutest thing! My son and his wife are just in awe of him.
Now I really must get those feather blocks sewn so I can get his quilt finished !

If you need me, I'll be knitting some teeny tiny things : )

linking up with Wool on Sundays

You have some great finishes there, Carla, but the best finish is your adorable new grandson. He looks positively huggable! Congrats.

Your grandson is perfect. Is he only a few hours in this photo....he is beautiful. Obviously he was in a hurry to meet you and wasn't going to wait any longer. Were those lovely socks really on your needles all that time....that is not like you Carla. I will have to get the whip out. =) Oh my goodness you whipped up the lovely blanket in next to no time. It is lovely; such a perfect colour and it looks so snugly soft. Have fun stitching and knitting for your wee one.

Adorable grandson! Have fun knitting tiny (and occasionally chunky) things for him.
Socks stay on my needles for a year as a rule as I am such a slow knitter.

He's an adorable little boy, Carla. I can sure understand how your son and DIL are in awe of him. Though maybe by now those sleepless nights are catching up, and there's not so much awe and wonder. :-) Your knitting is lovely, and it seems you're into green yarn. No doubt you'll have fun whipping up more adorable knitted items. You're talented!

What a gorgeous baby! I'm sure he will love his blanket. I have never knitted with bulky wool, but it always looks amazing, yet it sounds so simple.
