FRIDAY PHOTOS

This month I sort of did things backwards. Usually I get my bee blocks done early on, then it's play time!  This time however, I procrastinated until the end.  The blocks were easy so maybe that's why.

Nicke asked for these Greek Cross blocks for our do.good stitches group. They were fun to make so I made her an extra one. Besides, things look better in three's  : )

I mention this group quite a bit here on the blog. In case you are wondering what it's all about, this next picture sums it all up.  We make quilts for Hospice

used with permission

Look at that sweet sweet face. That's why I love doing it. This is the quilt that I put together.
Emily just finished this quilt that we all made blocks for too

Another group in the do.good stitches bee that I am part of is the Humility group. We make quilts for the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota

this month I made these two letters for the quilt Brittney is putting together

Now more than ever, I want to make a quilt with words.
Have a great week end.  Mine will be full of sewing  : )

WEEKEND SEWING

This past few days has only allowed for a few hours to myself. I have some blocks that I have to make for March bees, but I only managed one.

This block is for the Humility Group of do.good stitches

It's a big one at 15" finished

The other day, I picked up this lovely bundle so I could proceed with my 100 Modern blocks. You know, because I didn't have enough..........

and 17

I'm hoping for a few days to sew this week but that may be wishful thinking           : )

FRACTURED NINE PATCH -- A FINISH

This is my second finish for this quarter. You've seen this top before, but now it's done and can be on it's way to a Hospice House. The blocks came to me via the girls in the Heal @do.Good Stitches group.

original list is here

Large blocks and a bit of sashing resulted in a decent sized quilt - 50 x 67.  If you'd like to make one, the tutorial is here

I quilted it with straight lines randomly spaced from top to bottom.

Backing is Word Play for Benartex and the binding is a stripe I bought with just the right colours : )
After I had the top together I got a few more blocks in the mail. A couple of people here have offered to make blocks so I nearly have enough for another quilt. More on that one later.

Have a lovely week.
