QUARTER 2 FINISH

This time around I did much better in my goal to finish the things on my list. The original post is here .
I had hoped that by listing more I would finish more. I guess it worked! The latest one to get finished is Supernova. I got the binding on, washed it, and grabbed my daughter for a photo shoot.

I quilted it with diagonal lines about 1" apart. I used the quilting guide on my walking foot for some of it, but switched to drawing lines after a while because it was too bulky to stuff through my machine.
Drawing lines allowed me to switch directions of the quilt.

excuse the lint

The texture of this is so nice. I don't usually wash my quilts first, but I needed to get rid of the pen lines.

Looking back I realized this is the third finish for this quarter.

Hurray for three finishes this time  : )

SUPERNOVA

Wow does time fly. Back in January of 2012 I started this quilt from a layer cake of A Stitch in Color. Most of the blocks were done and then it got shoved to the back somehow.

I am purposing to finish some things this year so I dug out the blocks and got the top done. Yay!

The last block is a little more scrappy than the others because I was running out of fabric. I went onto Flickr to see how others had finished theirs and most had done a border like this, so I did too. I like how it extends out to the edge.

Quilting has begun.

NO TURNING BACK

As of today, I'm half done quilting the baby quilt. I wasn't sure how the lines would look on this, but I really like it. Even if I didn't, there is no way I'm picking it out.

I hope to have this finished up and bound in the next few days.

Supernova is partially pieced. I'm only missing one block. Why isn't this done !?

These are my April blocks for Heal@do.good stitches. They are the scrappy trip blocks but made with 3" strips. The blocks will finish 15". Super quick--super easy

Just two more days of work, then I'm on holidays for a bit. Hubby and I have a couple of overnight trips planned but we hope to just sort of wing it! Should be fun        : )
