LITTLE KNITS 3

Last week I was talking to one of my daughter in laws. She works in maternity at a small hospital that has about 300 deliveries a year.  For a few months she is doing a practicum in a much larger hospital where they deliver around 1300 babies a year.  I asked her if she would like some little hats to place on those wee heads she helps bring into this world.  She was quite happy about the idea and said they have no knitters for that hospital.  What ????

I cast on stitches that very night

and the next

and then again

I found myself home alone on Valentines day,  so I took myself out for a little shopping

When hubby got home from work, I showed him what he got me.........
He was quite impressed with himself  : )

The brown yarn is already in use for another hat.

I've been casting on 64 stitches on 4mm needles, doing a little seed stitch and then stocking stitch for about 4", then decreasing.  A little embellishing is always fun too.

With 1300 little heads to cover, I best get busy!

ITTY BITTY KNITTY - FINISH

Every baby needs a hat.  At least I think so anyway. Winters are cold here in Kamloops so I like to make sure when I gift a little quilt, there is a hat to match.  Baby will be styling while out for her walk : )

I made this quilt out of these Kaffe Fassett fabrics and then went in search of some delicious yarns to match

these were perfect

pattern is by Viridian Hue

and the best buttons ever by two good claymates that I got here

SO cute!

I'm so glad hockey season is back because that's when I do most of my knitting.  I hope there's a game tonight because I am itching to cast on something!!!

WOOL ON SUNDAYS

A couple of weeks ago, I came across this little linky party over at Rainbow Hare.  It's called Wool on Sundays . Since I am a knitter as well as a quilter, I thought I would try to remember to link up some of my knitting projects.  After finding the awesome wool shop on my recent road trip, I am all inspired to get busy again.

This. Poor. Sock. It's been waiting to be cast off forever. I think I started this two years ago?  Norma probably remembers when I started this. Hi Norma !

I love knitting socks, but the cast off usually gives me trouble. I think I found some help. I am following along on a sock knit along at Knitting Sarah

Janie's sweater is nearly done.  Just one more front to knit

I love this little edging.

One of the patterns I picked up. This one is for me

I found another button. These are made right here in Kamloops.  Soooooo pretty

2 Good Claymates make buttons and jewelry. Katja's carries some of them

A few weeks back one of my boys was shopping with a friend. She found a hat she really liked and my son said "My Mom could make you that".  (bless his heart)

I certainly hope she appreciates his ability to deliver : /

Have I got you running for your needles?
