FEBRUARY BEE BLOCKS

The past few days have been spent working on my February commitments. All my swap partners asked for easy blocks this month, so I had fun with them.

For Helen in my Scrappy? Sew bee it group

Jaclyn asked for a 'converging corners' block. This bee is called the Simply Solids bee and is made up of Canadians : )

and my blocks for the Heal@ do.good stitches group

I really enjoyed pulling scraps for these blocks, but realized after, I didn't use the colours Ella had asked for. I rather like the scrappiness of them so am going to make 2 more for her and keep these. They won't go to waste!

The next hexi-bet block F

I want to show you what my daughter did. She's apprenticing at an embroidery shop. They embroider logos and crests etc. onto jackets, hats, and things.  Last year she saw this drawing on the internet and fell in love with it. She drew her own version of it and left it in her scrap book. Last week she took it into work and was able to turn it into an embroidery pattern and stitch it onto this t-shirt.

--a young girl with long hair wearing a bandana and a striped t-shirt. Now that she is earning her own money, she's started buying fabric and stitched up these throw pillows. The fronts have a bit of quilting on them and she put zippers in the bottom.

the backs

Happy Mamma.

All those bee blocks sometimes make me wish I were joining in! I'm so busy with the commitments I already have though. Someday?!! Your daughter is very talented - I can tell you my granddaughter would LOVE to have a t-shirt with that design! She is nuts about all things anime and Japanese :*)

that is so amazing! i can't wait for my kids to start doing stuff like that! isn't it wonderful and so so sad also to think of them growing up and becoming real live adults that make decisions and shape their own worlds! love it and hate it all at the same time. ahh, motherhood!
