SUPERNOVA

Wow does time fly. Back in January of 2012 I started this quilt from a layer cake of A Stitch in Color. Most of the blocks were done and then it got shoved to the back somehow.

I am purposing to finish some things this year so I dug out the blocks and got the top done. Yay!

The last block is a little more scrappy than the others because I was running out of fabric. I went onto Flickr to see how others had finished theirs and most had done a border like this, so I did too. I like how it extends out to the edge.

Quilting has begun.

Looks great Carla. Hope you and the hubby had a wonderful little holiday. How was the Canuck game?

It is always such a good feeling to finish up something that was "lost" and now is "found". Unfortunately I also have many of these in my house, and I swear they reproduce when I am not looking!! I hope you have some more trips planned with your husband, time together is always precious.

These blocks look amazing together - I think the super large scale of them makes them really dramatic. It's going to be a stunning quilt!

What an incredible quilt: it's amazing and striking. I love the way the colours continue out into the borders. It keeps the eye moving rather than being brought to an abrupt halt. Well done. Philippa xx

The top is gorgeous and you made a great decision with the border. It really does help to move the eye around the quilt.

Your groups knows a fast way to come up with a quilt top! The text fabric is something I've been toying with since I have several fat quarters.

wow WOW! I love how these colors pop! My Supernova top is all sewn together. And yet it just sits in a pile of other quilt tops, waiting for something to happen...

Your Supernova is wonderful! The colors are perfect. Since this post, I hope you've gotten to quilting it because it deserves to be quilted and either hung up (as my Supernova is) or used!
