A FINISH, A START, AND A W.I.P.

I trust everyone had a nice Easter. I decided to take a bit of a break from here to focus on family.

After two long years, I finally finished this pair of socks.  This is my first finish for Quarter 2 of the Finish Along. My original list is here

They are a perfect fit and will be a stocking stuffer next Christmas for one of my girls  : )

I've had a few knitting finishes lately so I've allowed myself some new starts. This lovely sock yarn by Kattikloo is hand dyed on Salt Spring Island right here in B.C.  The colour is 'Tender'

and this pale blue wool blend will be a double breasted coat

After getting home from our trip, I had one day in my sewing room so I worked on Cannery Row. I made most of the confetti blocks for section three.

It's actually longer than this, but you get the idea. I'm really liking all the bright solids with the grey.
Happy Monday!

I like your knitting Carla. I have an eye toward making Christmas presents early this year, and a pair of knitted socks sounds like a great idea. The Kattikloo yarn is really pretty.
Your Cannery Row quilt is looking fab, I really like the grey combined with the blue behind the flying geese blocks.
Have a nice week!

Lovely socks...I've been ignoring my knit projects lately. I had high hopes of a productive weekend until a sinus cold struck. I managed to attend Good Friday and Sunday services at church and that was about it...boo hoo. Oh well there is always this week!

Those socks are totally fabulous Carla! I imagine they are more luxurious than store bought ones and probably last longer too. I wish I had the time to do all those cool knitting projects but I know is always a nice feeling to wear something you made yourself!

great socks! It's funny how some projects that are fairly small can sometimes take a while to finish up, but they were worth it in the end- such beautiful socks. I am in awe of the quilt layout at the end of the post- that is so stunning!

Thanks for your comment re the cardigans. The pattern was in an English mag 'Love Knitting' but its a Sirdar pattern (cropped cardigan), probably easier to get it that way. Hope that helps, x
